Some of the projects shared were Backpacks for children just starting school, distributed by Hackham West Community Centre, Maternity packs for young pregnant women escaping domestic violence, sales of beanies and knitted items to support our Youth projects, the Rotary District Shelterbox representative spoke about the role Shelterbox played in the aftermath of the recent Thai earthquakes. We recycle rope, ringpulls and cans to support Interplast. Our District Interplast representative Merilyn, was also available to talk about her role in fundraising and awareness raising for Interplast. we also collect unwanted items from Flinders and Noarlunga hospitals for transportation to Rotary Australia Repurposing Equipment in Edinburgh for reallocation to overseas communities.

Visit to the desalination plant.
Clean water is one of the aims of Rotary. In this driest of states in the driest country, club members and friends visited the Desalination Plant in Lonsdale to see just how our water supply is coping with our prolonged summer.
Water is essential for life

Mother's Day event at Bunnings
A few club members assisted at the Bunnings Mother's Day event, demonstrating wood burning to parents, guiding children with various crafts and enjoying sausages and snacks that we didn't have to cook. Thank you Lions for your cooking efforts. Some of the children painted pots for seedlings, handprint bags and fridge magnets.
The adults painted tiles and trivets for their Mums. A good evening and a chance to speak to local parents and show the Rotary badge.

Dini, Marion and Cheryl practicing wood burning on coasters and charcuterie boards to help the parents make gifts for Mum.
