Mayor Moira Were AM  joined us for a meal and a chat whilst listening to our list of upcoming activities last week. Our Mayor has lived in several locations throughout our City and shared some of her best moments with us. Moira embraces change, looks for positive results and always values the contribution volunteers make in our community. We had the opportunity to ask questions and receive up to the minute answers. Greening the city is a passion of Moira's and asks that every resident plant a tree so we can cool our suburbs and encourage biodiversity in our planting. In the meantime, Council staff will continue to plant trees in streets and parks for our health and enjoyment.

If you run a small farm, keep horses or cattle, run a few sheep or even a small vineyard, the Hills Small Acreage Field Day at Echunga had interesting stalls for you. Food vans were there too and you could nibble some donuts and sip coffee whilst checking out the latest in horse trailers, mowers and machinery. Children weren't forgotten with dog displays popular.

The Rotary Club of Stirling asked their local Rotarians for help to run the day. Clubs from Flagstaff Hill, Morphett Vale, Mount Barker and Blakiston Nairne all rallied to help. We made friends with other clubs whilst enjoying a day out in the hills.
