Meeting notes Wednesday 7 July 2021

 

Ian opened the meeting with housekeeping, and introduced President Merilyn.

Merilyn welcomed members and special guests Chris Andrews and partner Cherisse, Trevor Sharpe and visiting Rotarian Vaughan. Apologies: Jody Holdbeck

Directors then gave short reports

            Joy – Community Service Director updated members on the Trevor Parry Sensory Garden seats and pots, beanie sale fundraiser to go ahead next year, Rope winding fundraiser reminder for next Saturday. Alan will now be coordinating the rope winding.

Past President Susan - reminded board members to submit reports by the Monday before the meeting.

            Treasurer Chris - notified members that half yearly invoices would be sent out soon.

International Director Terry – reminded members of the Bunnings BBQ on Saturday 24 July as he is the coordinator as Garry will be interstate.

Tony DIK contact - gave the yearly DIK report

Secretary Dini – notified members that there is a ‘Spirit of Women’ event on either 15 or 16 September and we may be asked to supply food. Further details as they come to hand. 4 members gave assistance to help set up and provide road marshalling for the NAIDOC Week march on June 30.

Project manager Ian – Gave a detailed update on the progress of the renovation of the snacks kitchen in Rotary Hall which was completed on time and under budget. Over 95 hours of volunteer labour over 31 days. Congratulations Garry, Tony, Ian and Phil.

 

Garry then presented an informative ‘Who am I’ on his life so far.

 

Marion presented on the Club management system ‘Clubrunner’ and encouraged members with smartphones to load the ‘CR’ app to enable them to access the club members directory.

 

New member Chris Andrews drew the raffle with Tracy winning the prize.

 

Terry led the toast to Rotary International with a toast to Eastbourne [East Surry in the UK] Rotary Club. https://www.facebook.com/RotaryClubEastbourne/ Eastbourne is a ‘dual gender’ club which raises its money with a Christmas ‘Tree of Light’ and supports those ‘Alone at Christmas’ with small gifts to ensure they are remembered.

 

President Merilyn reminded members to get their money for Pichi Richi in by Friday and remember rope winding Saturday morning.
