President’s report
There are 87 days left in this year 2022 and only 81 days till Christmas.
Every week brings new activities and projects for our club and I thank everyone who has been active, both assisting in the community and behind the scenes. Easier access to the calendar was discussed and a hard copy of the October calendar distributed.
A full roster of members set up, served and cleaned up on the public holiday earning the club $1281 to another sold out bbq. Thank you everyone, especially Mark, Rose and Tracy who loaded the trailer, set up at Bunnings, Mark then cooked for the whole day and returned the trailer after the bbq and unloaded with Tracey’s help.
Earlier starts were discussed and discounted due to volunteer hours needed.
Tracy and Rose have spent 7.5 hours cleaning the fridges and working in the shed.
Terry has removed the large ultrasound machine from Southern Koala Rescue. A mammoth job. Thank you Terry. The logistics of this task were formidable.
A working bee has been organised at the Butterfly Walk at Vintners Walk in Hackham tomorrow afternoon 4-6pm and for the next three Thursday afternoons this month.
Trevor Parry Centre working bee is on Monday 10 October at 1pm-3pm.
Our Recycling and rope winding is on again on Saturday 9-12 with a nice morning tea as usual [see Terry].
and we are providing a bbq and hot drinks for our partners Tugra Shan for their special event also on Saturday. [see Merilyn for details].
Reminder to directors there is a board meeting next Wednesday 12 and the day after 13 October, the Parliament House tour has been booked. Members meet on Parliament House steps 11am.
We are also making up a group to see the Agatha Christie play ‘The Mousetrap’ in January.
Please contact Marion asap to indicate your attendance. This popular live theatre production will sell out quickly.
Tickets prices are $159, $139, $109, $79.
Concession tickets are $10 ea less than above prices and the matinees are the same price as evenings.
Directors Reports
Merilyn has worked with Sandy to provide 10 prizes for the Mother's Day Raffle. Almost all are donated or given to us at a reduced price. Great work!
Hat Day is 5 November and members are encouraged to wear their wackiest, most comfortable or smartest hat for a $5 donation to Australian Rotary Health.
Dini will be adding events to our club facebook pages. We will also investigate ways to display each month's calendar in a user friendly way.
Dini has also arranged for members to cook for students from Christies Beach High School as they explore Calperum Station from 25-28 October. Another member to assist would be welcomed. Please see Dini if you would like to join her 'away' team.
As AG, Dini advised members of an Open Garden event managed by the Rotary Club of Goolwa on 6 November.
Dini also congratulated the club on receiving an RI Citation for the 2021-2022 year. We were one of only 11 clubs who achieved their goals in our district. Well done everyone.
Tracy also encouraged members to volunteer their time for the Noarlunga Christmas Fair to be held on 6 November on the oval at Old Noarlunga. Our club will be providing a variety of items for sale.

Mark explained to members the various pieces of legislation which influence the club's activities.
To be an Incorporated Association [a protection for members] we are required to have a Constitution; By-Laws tailor that constitution to our exact needs. The next time you see our constitution in action will be at our AGM in December.
Mark was thanked for his presentation.

Our next meeting Meeting 121 is our membership and information night with finger food and lots of opportunity to chat with visitors. Members are asked to meet upstairs by 6:45pm for a 7:15pm start.
