Notes from meeting 81
Meeting 81 was held at the South Adelaide Football Clubrooms in the Zone Room.
President Susan welcomed 18 members and visitors Sue and Ray Carr and Jaimie Grose [guest speaker], Helen Pfeiffer, Tracey Miller, Susan Mc Adie, Judy Hutchinson, Alan Nelson, Colin Read and two young Simpsons. Apologies were Terry Brown and Ray Jones.
President Susan briefly reviewed our successful Australia Day event with a reminder to members to submit feedback forms asap.
RYLA is now open for applications. RYLA Dinner on April 27 and we will provide a BBQ on April 23.
Bunnings BBQs are coming up soon and
The Vintage and Classic Breakfast is on Sunday 18th April.
The District Conference is on the same weekend. 16-18 April. Members are encouraged to attend.
Blister pack recycling is being persued through a firm in Victoria.
Trees for Life have a workshop at Tony Galpins on March 13. [RCFH]
Rotary Hall is being considered for the establishment of a community garden. Members needed for a committee.
Come and Try croquet fun night arranged, see calendar.
Joining up members pamphlet circulated. Comments requested.
Continue to promote the Business Breakfast on March 24.
Youth contacts team to be formed for better sources of suitable youth applicants for our programs.
Note May 2 for the District Assembly.
The RI theme logo and theme address has been published for 2021-2022. Service to change lives.
Pitchi Ritchi excursion to the Flinders will be on August 20-23 August with the train ride on Sunday 22nd. Book own accommodation. Bulk price will be obtained for the train ride and workshop tour. Closing date end of March.
Sewing machines from DIK have been given to a Muslin refugee group for them to make their own style of clothes which are in short supply in Adelaide.
New member Phil Pfeiffer spoke on his life and experiences.
Jamie Grose spoke on his NYSF experience.
The Rotary Club of Reyjkavik International was toasted.
