Notes  meeting 103

 

Welcome Rotarians to our first meeting for 2022.   Well we thought Zoom meetings were behind us, but alas Covid-19 has other ideas.     I trust you all enjoyed the Christmas New Year break and are refreshed and relaxed ready for the challenges of the year.

 

Please have yourselves on MUTE when others are speaking and raise you hand if you wish to speak.

Due to Covid -19 we will continue to meet via Zoom for general meetings and if we have a commitment which is outside we will continue to participate in these events as planned.     It is essential that members notify Dini of your Covid Status as we are unable to have non vaccinated members participate in some events     We all have our club masks to use, if you are unable to wear these a mask of your choice must be worn.

 

 

 

District has sent us their     Master Protection Policy  which replaces the Youth Protection Policy, all members have a copy of this policy, please make yourselves aware of the contents as it applies to all members.

 

 

Mothers Day Raffle:     Members have been allocated 2 books each to sell and most of the community groups who wished to be involved have received their tickets.   I will be endeavouring to secure some selling sights for us and once I have done this will let you know when and where.     

 

Australia Day Breakfast has been cancelled.   We will receive some money for the planning efforts the club has put in.   

 

Vintage and Classic has also been cancelled due to Covid restrictions.

 

Both events are good fundraising events, disappointing, but we have to keep our members and the public safe.

 

Grants:    We have been successful with the council grant for defibulators and Commnity Garden at the Rotary Hall.    We are awaiting approval to use the land adjoining the hall and should receive the approval this week.

 

We were also successful with a Federal Government Grant for a new gazebo which will be purchased shortly.

 

End Polio Ute Relay:     We had the Polio Ute and attended the Willunga Market with both Seaford and McLaren Vale Clubs before the ute went to Goolwa and Victor Harbour.   This was a promotional opportunity only as we were not allowed to sell the raffle tickets.

 

District Governors visit on March 2  may now be a Zoom meeting.   More details once I have received them.

It is essential we all follow the Covid rules to ensure we are keeping our selves, our fellow members and the broader community safe in these very difficult times.

Our next meeting is Wednesday, February 2 and our guest speaker is Lenard from the Adelaide University Rotoract Club.     See you all then, on Zoom.    If you have any questions please send them to either Dini or myself so we can have your answer for the next meeting.

We will continue to grow, with COMMUNICATION, CO-OPERATION, and CONSIDERATION to our fellow Rotarians.
