ROTARY STUDY CENTRE – MULTI PURPOSE HALL
We received this update from Isaac on the progress of the Study Centre at Vaiyampatti, in India.
There have been some holdups due to continuous monsoon rain and water stagnation at the building side, therefore they could not continue the work in the last few months of 2024.
With the funds sent from our club, and moneys received from Flagstaff Hill and Somerton Park Rotary Clubs they have procured the building materials and cement which enabled the builders to commence work on the foundations for the hall.
Since the land on this site is 5 feet lower than the Road, their architect advised them to raise the foundation 6 feet from the ground level. This became a bit of a challenge as they needed to raise the wall and fill up the building with soil and then do the rough flooring, then raise the structure till they complete the roofing.
