A most informative visit with Fiona and Di from SA State Emergency Service Noarlunga. Both Fiona & Di have been in SES just shy of 10 years. Fiona is the Assistant Unit Manager at Noarlunga. Both are in SOSU, State Operation Support Unit.  Noarlunga has 70 members. The SES help other emergency services such as Police in search and rescue. SES helps with road closures after trees down and accidents. They have also help with large animal rescue. In times of floods, SES supply sandbags to help protect properties. They also help CFS in bushfires. Noarlunga is the biggest area in the city area and is the busiest.

How to prepare in case of evacuation...
Listen to the ABC Radio News, BOM and SES Website for updates.

If have to leave home, have an emergency pack ready and even if you don't, make sure you have spare batteries for torches and radio and emergence lighting in case power goes out. What goes in the pack is up to you but examples, water bottle, snacks, book, torch, small radio & batteries for them, medication, medication scripts, important papers, a book to read, change of undies & if you have pets, food etc for them.

Thank you SES volunteers for the work you do to help us stay safe.
