Shared experiences build better friendships
The weekend of 20-23 August was chosen for a Rotary Club members trip away to Quorn in South Australia's mid north to ride the Pichi Richi Railway heritage train and explore the lower Flinders Ranges. Rotary member Jeanette arranged the local tours and train trip which included visits to Warren Gorge, Hugh Proby's Grave, Willochra Creek, Kanyaka Homestead, Simmonstown ruins, Hawker, the Quorn Silo Light Show, a visit to the heritage train workshops and other local highlights.
Club members with their family and friends travelled through the mid north of South Australia enjoying the green countryside and making the most of country bakeries and local sights.

Quorn had a busy weekend planned with the races, bowls tournament, a wedding and of course our visit to highlights of the southern Flinders.

Pichi Richi Railway is operated entirely by volunteers and is unique in that it has the only remaining operating Edwardian Steam Motor Coach, known as 'The Coffee Pot' in the world.
Our group traveled on the 'Pichi Richi Explorer', with a W class steam locomotive numbered W934.
