Great story in the Times (Victor Harbor) about our collaboration with Rotary Club of Victor Harbor resulting in the purchase of an all-terrain wheelchair for Encounter Lutheran College.

President Karen & Rotary Morphett Vale President Merilyn Russell attended an assembly at Encounter Lutheran College to donate a beach Wheelchair after receiving a request from student Tayla Briscoe who came up with the idea after having a broken leg and realising how difficult it was to go to the beach and move through the sand.

This led to her thinking about a young student at the college (Toby) who has a disability and uses a wheelchair to get around. Her thoughts where “how difficult would it be for Toby to go to the beach and enjoy the experience”.

This led to Tayla submitting an application to Rotary and the joint clubs subsequent donation. A great initiative by Tayla and example of how Rotary can Serve to Change Lives.

Thanks to our club member Phil Pfeiffer for bringing the issue to our attention.

Great outcome all around
