Will it be FUN?
In Rotary year 2012-2013 the Rotary Club of Morphett Vale added another question to ask ourselves
‘Will it be FUN?'
Why do we look to have fun?
The ‘Test’ encourages us to be the best we can be, truthful, ethical, thinking of others and being a better friend.
All of these things can be enhanced in an atmosphere of fun.
We make much better Rotarians if we do all we do whilst having fun.
Sometimes having FUN is hard.
We need to actively look for the joy in our activities. Whilst loading and unloading a trailer, setting up our workspaces, cooking food and of course, serving others. We need to look for activities to do that develop that FUN experience.
A working bee to DIK can be an opportunity to have a bit of fun. Packing a backpack for a needy child, sorting recycled rope, repairing furniture or digging a garden. We can find joy in a sense of accomplishment. A job well done.
Having FUN makes the time go quickly, it encourages us to ‘be in the present’ to actively engage with others and enjoy the moment.
Smile, listen and look for a sense of the ridiculous.
Having fun encourages others to join us.
To want what we have.
Every Rotarian has a unique set of skills that can be used for the betterment of others.
Thank you to our leaders and club members who can find FUN in an everyday task.
You are essential to our club.
