A RARE DELIVERY
Rotary Australia Repurposing Equipment (RARE) is a  volunteer-based recycling facility used to collect and redistribute goods, principally donated by companies, hospitals and educational institutions. The goods it distributes are destined for developing countries and to disadvantaged individuals in the local community.
Rotary members packed a truck with items collected from Flinders Hospital, local businesses, nursing homes and individuals. Crutches and walkers, bandages and wheelchairs. It all went into the truck aided by President Phil who cleverly stacked it to the ceiling. Phil, Terry and Alan then unpacked it for storage at Edinburgh.
Well done everyone.

SAIL TRAINEE IMPRESSES
Marcus recently attended Rotary's sail training  on the 'One and All' sailing ship. Nominated by his martial arts instructor, John from Tugra Shan, Marcus presented his story to club members. Initially wary of an unknown experience, Marcus soon became the leader of his team and even took the helm before the ship returned to port. Martial arts training gave him an advantage. He said it isn't easy to steer when you can't see where you are going. You rely on others to guide you. Marcus describes the attributes of  good leader are empathy, listening and not asking someone to do something you woudn't do yourself. His impressive presentation was thoughtful and from the heart.Thank you for sharing this amazing experience with us Marcus.
