Delicious pasta and salad was cooked by members and shared with members and guests  as they gathered in Rotary Hall on Thursday 3rd June to hear Nelson, Phil, Susan, Garry and Marion speak on their experiences at the recent RYLA week held at Nunyara at Belair in April.

 

Phil was the RYLA registrar and teamed up applicants with their sponsoring clubs. A huge task for a member new to Rotary and club locations.

 

Susan was the RYLA manager and juggled multiple tasks including the awards dinner and Ramadan requirements.

 

Garry and Marion were the RYLA 'parents' and cared for the welfare of those attending the course. This included sharing sessions with them, discussing life issues and encouraging participants in their daily tasks.

Nelson was our club's sponsored participant and he discussed many of the sessions he attended and what he learned from his RYLA week.

 

Next meeting date, Wednesday June 16  at the Zone Room to hear John Price discuss his work in Nepal.   

 

Meet at 6 pm for dinner at 6.30 in Jimmy Deane's Bistro with meeting commencing in the Zone room at 7 pm
