Vale Helen Oxenham OAM.
Holder of the Key to the City of Onkaparinga and Paul Harris Fellow.

In 2020, Helen was bestowed an Order of Australia Medal for her life-long work supporting women in need. In 2024 Helen was given the Keys to the City of Onkaparinga and a Paul Harris Fellow. Helen was very active in fighting domestic violence, she established the first domestic violence shelter in Adelaide and founded the Spirit of Woman group.

Helen has been a stalwart advocate for women’s rights her entire life. At over 90 years old, and now passing her responsibilities to her daughter Heather, she was fundraising, lobbying and standing up for the rights of women and children to the end.

We send our condolences to her friends and family.
