End of 2020-2021 welcome 2021-2022

So close to our Presidential changeover on Sunday. Each year on July 1 [or close to it] Rotary Clubs change their President and some of their Executive positions. This brings fresh ideas and energy to the club whilst still ensuring continuity for projects still in progress.

Cheque to RAM - Rotarians against malaria

Rotary Australia World Community Service Ltd. (RAWCS) was formed to enable Australian Rotarians, Rotary Districts and Rotary Clubs to assist disadvantaged communities and individuals through humanitarian aid projects. One of these is RAM.

Rotarians Against Malaria is a volunteer-run organization working to eliminate malaria. The primary focus of RAM has been the distribution of insecticide-treated nets to vulnerable populations in Papua New Guinea, the Solomon Islands and more recently, Timor Leste.

Our club supports the work of Rotarians Against Malaria by donating funds to continue their good work.

Returning Rotarian - Alan Nelson

The induction of a new member is always enjoyed by club members, however this new member was especially welcome.

Alan Nelson and his wife Jeannie were members of the Rotary Club of Noarlunga and we welcome them back to the Rotary Club of Morphett Vale which was formed 3 years ago by the merging of the Rotary Clubs of Noarlunga and Noarlunga East..

Rotarians working in Nepal

Often at our general meetings we invite Rotarians with interesting stories to tell.

This time it was John Price from the Rotary Club of Edwardstown sharing his experiences volunteering in Nepal.

Xanthe wins the raffle

Every General meeting we have a raffle to raise funds for the club.

Our winner last meeting was a little unusual. Xanthe is a trained guide dog and was the raffle winner after a member donated his tickets to her when he had to leave before the end of the meeting.

Xanthe will be receiving a special bag of liver treats as her prize.
